Gulfport (MS) … Business Communications, Inc., (BCI) recently purchased and, as of October 10th, moved into a 5,000+ square-foot building located at 641 35th Street in Gulfport.
“For the past eight years, we’ve been housed right across the street from this new location,” said Tom Hinds, Vice President. “But this new building provides us with three-times the space and a property that is fully ours. To be honest, we believe in the Mississippi Gulf Coast and this community—and we’re invested in it.”
BCI’s Gulfport office includes 30 employees, many of whom lived on-site at the company’s prior address in corporate-owned travel trailers for up to six months after Katrina devastated the area. “Immediately after Katrina, we renovated the building that had been BCI’s Gulf Coast home for almost eight years,” explained Hinds. “But as the Coast has rebuilt, we’ve added substantially to our customer base and added quite a few more technology professionals to our staff—and that’s required us to expand and to grow.”
Earlier this year, BCI acquired Spire Network Services, a New Orleans-based consulting firm specializing in computer networks and web-enabled software applications. The company has also expanded their Ridgeland-based headquarters this summer, adding some 9,000 square-feet of office and warehouse space to the company’s original 10,000 square-foot building. “Our company’s revenues have grown by 30% annually since 2003,” said Hinds, “so it makes sense that our staff and business locations would be growing too.”
