BCI announces the acquisition of Spire Network Services, a New Orleans-based consulting firm specializing in computer networks and web-enabled software applications, as of February 1, 2007.
Spire Network Services was founded in 1994 by Steve and Tom Russo, who grew the business to include system administration; turnkey networking solutions; internet, email and intranet services; as well as software development.
“We have watched the company grow over the years and made an offer to purchase Spirenet because of their personnel, technical skills and a client base of healthcare, legal and commercial entities based in southern Louisiana that was attractive to us,” explained Tony Bailey, CEO of BCI, “This acquisition allows us to step in with a strong presence and technical base to the city of New Orleans, a market we had long considered, as it rebuilds and grows.”
“Beyond that, with BCI already being a Cisco Systems Silver Certified Partner, and the only one in Mississippi, we understood and valued Spirenet’s certification as a Cisco Partner, as well as their Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video, and Integrated Data) certification,” stated Bailey. “BCI realizes the importance of strong alliances with best-of-breed technology partners and has forged partnerships with more than 30 of the world’s most respected technology companies, including Cisco, Microsoft, Computer Associates, EqualLogic, SUN Microsystems and VMWare. These partnerships allow BCI to offer superior levels of technology, innovation, service and support.”
BCI, headquartered in Ridgeland, Mississippi, maintains offices in Birmingham, Memphis, Little Rock, Gulfport, Mobile, Shreveport, and now New Orleans.
